Big Brewing
Fairtrade Embsay with Eastby held a Big Brew event in February.
Big Brew is a Transform Trade (formerly Traidcraft) initiative. Transform Trade has been fighting for trade justice since 1986, so it’s the 40th Anniversary Year. The Embsay and Eastby Fairtrade group are aiming to raise £400 – £10 for every year Traidcraft/Transform Trade has been in existence.
The group raised £257.60 at the event and it was a very joyful occasion. There was a Fairtrade stall and pre-loved book stall and lots of delicious home baking to sample as well as new jams from True Origin, produced in Eswatini, by the Black Mamba women’s cooperative. Peach and ginger was the favourite! Another similar event is planned for the first weekend in Fairtrade Fortnight.
