Yorkshire Tour for Rice Farmers

Howard and Webster, rice farmers from Malawi will be visiting Yorkshire this month. They will be speaking to school pupils and community groups. There is also an opportunity to hear Howard and Webster speak, or to meet them, at public events at several locations in Yorkshire.

Saturday 15 SeptemberIlkley. Welcome reception in the Function Room in the Flying Duck, 16 Church Street, Ilkley LS29 9DR from 6pm. A presentation followed by an opportunity to taste a selection of dishes to complement the Kilombero rice.

Sunday 16 September 10am – Presentation during the family service at St John the Evangelist Church, Ben Rhydding, Bolling Road, Ilkley LS29 8PN

Monday 17 September
4pm – 5.30pm Good Taste, The Fairtrade Shop, 195 Whitham Road, Sheffield S10 2SN Meeting the customers and tasting the rice. Free event open to the public

Tuesday 18 September
From 7pm – Musafir Indian Restaurant, Keighley Road, Skipton BD23 2TA T: 01756 792727 Presentation followed by buffet meal using the Kilombero rice. Open to the public – buffet meal from 8pm – £10 to include vegetarian options, three starters and three mains.

Wednesday 19 September 11am to 12.30pm – Fairer World, 84 Gillygate, York YO31 7EQ Meeting the customers and members of York Fairtrade Forum Free event open to the public
7pm for 7.30pm – The Priory Street Centre, 15 Priory Street, York YO1 6ET Presentation and question time with the representatives of JTS and Howard and Webster. Free event open to the public organised by Fairer World.
